Floating in a Thai Sea

September 19, 2012

A sea of Thai basil, that is……

(Note the ghost robe watching me from the window behind.)

So what is floating? A nocturnal pollen pilferer, that’s what…..

Furry little bugger isn’t he?

please tell me about your bottle tree. I bought one and it broke at the bass. v. bad wind storm. Did you make yours? I just recycled all my bottles.

I made mine with srcap using a borrowed welder. It it is 3/4 square steel tub and the bottle holders are 3″ rebar pieces. I drive a 3/8″ x 2’+ piece of rebar into the ground and then slip the base tubing over it. very steady and easy to move.
Most bottle trees are made by hobby welders imho and the welds probably aren’t great. Take the pieces to a muffler shop and ask if they will tack weld it together while you wait for $10 or $20. Those guys know how to weld simple steel pretty well…..
