Elections, Gardens, and Fat Cats
Thank god this election is behind us; as is usually the case, we get what we deserve…… the world won’t end for the 50% of the population disappointed this morning, nor will it suddenly be nirvana for the 50% of the population who have voted “their guy” in again.
Here behind cohutt’s fence, we’ll continue to take care of ourselves to the best of our abilities, focusing on improving our self reliance and self sufficiency. This would be the case regardless of who happens to be in any office at any level of government at any given time; we know that ultimately are responsible for our own well being regardless of what Washington or City Hall may do in the meantime to make it either easier or more difficult.
Some say the whole game is rigged, controlled by Washington and Wall Street “Fat Cats”. Maybe so, but we don’t need them here…
We have our own.
😉
(Did he just move?)
Well said!
Amen! And no, he didn’t move… I just need more coffee.
Not living in the US I find it odd how much press we get about the US presidential election. No other country gets anything like the same air time. I suppose it’s because the US economy and military do tend to have tentacles stretching far and wide. Whatever the outcome, I’m glad my evening news will go back to being World News and not US News. But mainly I’ll go back into my garden and do what I do every day. Like you, I realise that I have no control and am best focussing on what I can control. Now, when someone starts holding elections about the weather, I’ll sit up and take real notice:-)
Bruce, my friend- never have truer words been spoken!
LOL in other words I wonder what the hell the country is thinking and I did not think much of the new government. ( But then again I haven’t thought much of any government for some time now…. )
Amen to all that you said! Self sufficiency and self reliance is what I’m working toward as well. No matter who is in office.
If every other person in this country felt like this we could cut the gubmint by 3/4
Indeed!
That fat cat is tough. If our country was run by dogs instead of by fat cats, it would be a kinder country! I’m with you though. 50% are upset, 50% are feeling smug, but we have much to work out that will impact 100%. Meanwhile, the media should give us all a rests, so we can just keep on keeping on.
Please don’t hesitate to bring a bag full of fresh vegetables to your less than self sufficient in-laws for Thanksgiving.
